Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-related hypertensive disorder, accounting for 2-8% of pregnancy complications. Preeclampsia results in organ damage and it can be fatal for both the mother and baby.
The model replicates key features of human disease: hypertension, altered renal function, and embryonic mortality. It is intended for a new drug candidate efficacy testing.
